The Curse

Curses are never truly broken

Dormant, maybe.

Forgotten, never.

They hide and wait,

Waiting to break

Those who don’t deserve it.

And when you think you’re free

The curse whispers

“You can’t get rid of me”

The hope, shattered.

All faith, gone.

This time won’t be different.

You’re punished

Carrying the curse closer

Becoming heavier with each attempt to flee

All you tried to hold

Comes crashing down

You know you aren’t safe

The only reflief you’ll find

Is inside

Where no one will ever look.

Just as the curse

You can’t be broken

Down every path leads to destruction

Until you find the curse was you

And you are the one thing

You can never truly break
